CIRCLES

Spirit Passages' Shamanic Journey Drumming Circle

The Spirit Passages monthly shamanic journey drumming circle offers an opportunity for anyone with journey skills to spend time with other shamanically-minded individuals in a safe and sacred space.

We meet the First Friday of each month at the True North Conference Room, on the second floor of 202 US Route One, Falmouth, Maine at 7PM. The fee is $10 per person. Please bring a blind fold, notebook, pen and rattle or drum if you have one. (An elevator is available for your convenience.)

Maine Turnpike from North and South:
NOTICE: At Exit 52 in Falmouth on the Falmouth Spur, major bridge rehabilitation is being conducted. The northbound on-ramp at Exit 52 will be closed (ramp from Falmouth to the Maine Turnpike Northbound mainline) for one year starting as early as June 15, 2010. Interim directions follow:

Southbound or Northbound on I-95 – coming to True North:

Take exit 52 from either direction. Once through the tollbooth, stay in the right lane and take the middle exit for Route 1 South. Go straight through 3 traffic lights past the Wal-Mart plaza and then take your first right into Foreside Place (Gorham Savings Bank is on the corner). Enter through the largest green awning at the front of the building. True North is at the top of the staircase. If needed, there is an elevator in the lobby to the left upon entering the building.

Northbound on I-95 – leaving True North:

To go northbound on the Turnpike from Falmouth, take a left out of the True North parking lot onto Route 1 and turn left at the next light onto Lunt Road (Pratt Abbott is on right). Go straight through the four-way stop. Take a left at next stop sign onto Allen Avenue. Travel 3 miles and turn right at the next street light onto Washington Avenue (Mobil gas station on your right). Turn left at the fourth street light onto the Turnpike at Exit 53 (Hannaford is on your right).

I-295 from Portland and Points South:
Go north on 295, over Tukey’s Bridge and past B&M Baked Bean Factory, to Exit 9 - Route 1 and 88 North. Go approximately 2 ½ miles on Route 1 and watch for TD Bank on left and Allen Sterling & Lothrop’s Garden Center on right. Take the next Left into Foreside Place just past TD Bank. Come in the main entrance with the green awning and proceed upstairs to Suite 200. True North is at the top of the staircase. If needed, there is an elevator in the lobby to the left of the doors.

I-295 from Yarmouth and Points North:
Go south on 295 to Exit 10 - Falmouth and Bucknam Road. At the first traffic light, turn left towards Route 1. Just before the next light, bear right onto Route 1, heading south and go through 2 more traffic lights. What Shamanism is and isn't

Shamanism is the 60,000 year old spiritual foundation of our ancient ancestors. It understands that all of the natural world is not only alive but sentient. A shaman is one who has disciplined herself or himself to expand perception into this larger world of spirit/consciousness for purposes of insight, guidance or healing on behalf of others.

Shamanism isn't a religion. It is a healing and problem-solving method which coexists peacefully with many religious traditions. It works along side Christianity and Judaism in the Americas and with Buddhism and Hinduism in Asia. Grounded in nature, shamanism is compatible with beliefs that see human beings and the Earth as dependent upon each other for health and well being. It also honors the personal power, intuition and sacredness of each individual.
